Amanda, any interest in doing a guest post on The Beauty Brains?

We’ve been working hard for the past 3 years to get reasonable, unbiased scientific information to the public. We seem to have a similar mission.

    Keep up the great work.

    Hi Amanda,

Just wanted to share this with you re Queen of Aleppo products :-)
    Queen of Aleppo Soaps Review

I recently came across a company marketing soap for Psoriasis on Facebook, always interested in trying new products I contacted them and explained that I run a social networking website called http://www.psoriasissocial.org and I’m in the process of launching another larger site that aims to help people social network and discuss a number of other conditions such as Eczema called http://www.social-medicine.org, I got a response explaining that they would like me to trial there product and write a review, explained I was in Australia (they are UK based) and postage would be expensive, to my surprise they said not an issue, two weeks later , again to my surprise a parcel turned up with not only one bar of soap, but 6, and a bottle of liquid soap, how kind…. And the trial commenced…

I was supplied with 4 main types of soap; more information can be found here http://www.queenofaleppo.co.uk:

    Silver – with 12% Laurel

    Gold – with 20% Laurel

    Platinum – with 40% Laurel

Liquid soap – with 50% Laurel

What’s Laurel I hear you say? Lets hunt down a wiki, seems it’s a type of plant, also…

A laurel wreath is a circular wreath made of interlocking branches and leaves of the bay laurel (Laurus nobilis, Lauraceae), an aromatic broadleaf evergreen. In Greek mythology, Apollo is represented wearing a laurel wreath on his head. In ancient Greece wreaths were awarded to victors, both in athletic competitions, including the ancient Olympics made of wild olive-tree known as “kotinos” (κότινος),[1] (sc. at Olympia) and in poetic meets; in Rome they were symbols of martial victory, crowning a successful commander during his triumph. Whereas ancient laurel wreaths are most often depicted as a horseshoe shape, modern versions are usually complete rings.

Over 4 weeks I trialled the soaps one week at a time, working from silver up to platinum, and as I have psoriasis on my scalp and I shave my head I went for the Liquid soap 50% on my head everyday, within a couple of days I felt my skin was smoother, psoriasis flakes dropped off both on my head and on my elbows and chest, also the redness decreased, this continued and it was noticeable as I got to the platinum how much better my skin felt after using the products.

After 4 weeks the result was that my psoriasis lesions still came back but not as frequently, they also fell of easier (a little like dandruff), they seem to be less dense and certainly less noticeable, I believe psoriasis is more than a skin issue so the product is not dealing with the cause and will not cure, but it will make it far more manageable and less embarrassing, I will continue to use the products over the next few months.

The company we’re also very nice to deal with and put themselves on the line for an honest review of their products.

    Thanks Queen of Aleppo

    Michael
