I had to go shopping yesterday to get my ingredients ordered for Greenfest and the Australian Science Festival. Both events are coming up so quickly so I was grateful for the New Directions Open Day! New Directions  have an amazing converted warehouse as their premises with the factory and warehouse downstairs and a beautifully decorated show room and office section upstairs.  For anyone interested in hobby cosmetic making this is a must visit location!

The open day was a good chance to talk to the team behind the scenes, listen to some talks on spa  therapies and formulations and generally meet like minded people. The place was buzzing, aided by the jazz band and the free flowing refreshments. I managed to place my order for Australian Blue and Pink Clay, Himalayan Pink Rock Salt, Glycerine,  a variety of vegetable oils and a whole heap of packaging while still having time to mingle amongst the displays. Sorry for my rather un-inspiring photography – my camera has been playing up pretty badly – next spare cash will get me a new one!

So, if you are interested in getting started New Directions can be reached via their web site or at their locations in Canada, UK, Taiwan, Portugal, Japan, France, Belgium and the USA.  They also run courses on cosmetic science, soap making, candle making, Intensive skincare and getting started in private label as well as being able to assist with formulating and packaging design. All very good.

Stay inspired!

Amanda
