Synthesis 345 – Alchymie Anti-Ageing.
I was delighted to hear that one of our Realize Beauty club members had launched a new brand and even more delighted to recieve a sample through the post! It’s always great to see what you are all up to.
Anyway, this brand has a big story to tell.
Synthesis 345 takes its name from the cosmology of the Ancient Egyptian Mystics with 3, 4 and 5 being the sides of the right angle triangle – the secret of all measure. The pyramids were built to house the imortal spirit in the same way that the body plays host during life.
Alchymie is an ancient art involved in the transmutation of matter with the greatest alchymie revolving around love or “life-force”. Synthesis 345 blends these two traditions together in a way that matches the requirements of today’s skincare.
So, what is it that will bring us this purity, integrity and love?
I tried out the First Love Regenerative Elixir and have to say that the smell was divine. The essence of rose hits you as soon as you open the pack and it lingers just enough to calm and re-energise you throughout the day. The rose is beautifully supported by the Sandalwood base notes of the blend (Sandalwood is used topically in Aromatherapy for its great skin balancing properties) and by the quiet achiever Agonis Fragrans (Fragronia).
Fragronia Oil is a new Australian native oil extracted by steam distillation from the Agonis Fragrans shrub of Western Australia. It was first brought to the market in 2008 and is yet to have a full set of technical data behind it. However chemical studies have found it to have significant antimicrobial and anti-inflamatory activity properties which make it very interesting cosmetically.
So why is a chemical analysis important for a new essential oil?
While the practice of using plants to heal and protect the body has been employed since man first walked the earth, the medicinal properties of essential oils were not explored with any formality until the early 20th century when French Chemist Gattefosse started his investigations. A more modern twist to an ancient art was born and called “aromatherapy”.
Essential oils are becoming more and more popular in cosmetic science as natural actives and perfumes and their function as antibacterial agents is very exciting – could we soon see the end of synthetic preservatives? However, as essential oils move out of the therapists hands and into those of the public the risks of mis-use become larger. The essential oil manufacturers and distillers have a duty of care to provide the market with safety guidelines as to the products use – some essential oils are so potent as to cause irritation when applied directly to the skin, others react to sunlight and a few are potentially toxic.
And for Agonis Fragrans?
Preliminary work on this oil looks prommising and as such it is safe to experience this unique and exciting new Australian oil via Synthesis 345. We will let you know when more data becomes available.
So while the Agonis Fragrans is the quiet achiever in this range it is the yummy range of natural oils, rich in Omega fatty acids and anti-oxidant vitamins that feed the skin with age defying nutrients. Oh, and while the serum may look orange, your skin won’t – it is surprisingly light and non-greasy for a natural product.
I am enjoying using the serum and am fascinated by the rich and varied story that this brand has to tell. Take a look, you may just find the secret to eternal love!

Wonderful review. I bought the Synthesis 345 Regenerative Elixir the moment it was released and I found that my skin felt so nourished and renewed that I didn’t feel the need to wear makeup. I used it intensely morning and night for a week and then I found that now every other day, sometimes more, sometimes less. It is such a comfort to have.
My regenerative elixir is a real treasure, when I apply it morning and night it becomes a moment of total nourishment, it carries me through the day, skin glowing healthily, no make up necessary, and envelopes me at night, going much further than just skin deep!
